The United States cannot simply declare a “strategic pause” while experimenting with new technologies and operational concepts. Nor can it choose to pursue a transformation strategy that would decouple American and allied interests.
A transformation strategy that solely pursued capabilities for projecting force from the United States, for example, and sacrificed forward basing and presence, would be at odds with larger American policy goals and would trouble American allies.
Further, the process of transformation, even if it brings revolutionary change, is likely to be a long one, absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event – like a new Pearl Harbor. (...)''

"The world is being run by one million evil men, ten million stupid men, and a hundred million cowards.

The evil men are the power - the rich men, and the politicians, and the fanatics of religion - whose decisions rule the world, and set it on its course of greed and destruction. There are only one million of them, the truly evil men, in the whole world. The very rich and the very powerful, whose decisions really count.

The stupid men, who number ten million, are the soldiers and the policemen who enforce the rule of the evil men. They are the standing armies of twelve key countries, and the police forces of those and twenty more. In total, there are only ten million of them with any real power or consequence. They are often brave, but they are stupid, too, because they give their lives for governments and causes that use their flesh and blood as mere chess pieces. Those governments always betray them or let them down or abandon them, in the long run. Nations neglect no men more shamefully than the heroes of their wars.

And the hundred million cowards, they are the bureaucrats and paper shufflers and pen-pushers who permit the rule of the evil men, and look the other way. They are the head of this department, and the secretary of that committee, and the president of that association. They are managers, and officials, and mayors, and officers of the court. They always defend themselves by saying that they are just following orders, or just doing their job, and it's nothing personal, and if they don't do it, someone else surely will. They are the hundred million cowards who know what is going on, but say nothing, while they sign the paper that puts one man before the firing squad, or condemns one million men to the slower death of a famine.

The world is run by one million evil men, ten million stupid men, and a hundred million cowards. The rest of us, all six billion of us, do pretty much what we are told!

This formula - the one million, the ten million, the hundred million - this is the real truth of all politics. Marx was wrong. It is not a question of classes, because all the classes are in the hands of this tiny few. This set of numbers is the cause of empire and rebellion. This is the formula that has generated our civilizations for the last ten thousand years. This built the pyramids. This launched the crusades. This put the world at war, and this formula has the power to impose the peace."

Germany to allow domestic military deployment

"BERLIN (AP) — Germany's governing coalition partners want to change the constitution to allow for military deployment within the country if needed to combat terrorism, officials said Monday." (for full report: click here)

I can not believe that we're following the US every step in direction of a police state! Yet another step was taken by the German government to cut down our civil rights and to secure their power in a failing system called Capitalism.

It seems to me that now our leaders realize that our system is about to fail completely all steps necessary are taken to secure their power, starting by cutting long established civil rights to now allowing the army to be deployed in Germany itself to 'help the police' (read: fight against its own people)! Living in the 21st century we are moving back towards a 19th century police state and this internationally. In the US troops are actually training for the deployment in the states itself (watch: Martial Law)...and we addopt the same laws a very scary step to me, but of course it is all done to protect the people. But if you look at it objectivly it rather seems like we are becomming the enemy of the state - or do we really expect an army of terrorists invading Germany? Lets take a look into the numbers 25,408 people died of terrorism worldwide between 1964 to 2004 on the other side there are 29.34million people that died of a heart disease in 2004 alone, redicolous numbers especially if you compare the spending for health care and the fight against terrorism... What does this show? Well that pretty much shows that we, the people are worth fuck to our politicians, not only here in Germany but in all the western, 'democratic' societies! Creed, cooperate growth and profit is what is motivating and controlling politics - not the people, not development of society or the creation of a better future for our children but the power of money and corruption!
Coming back to the issue of deploying German troops on German soil to 'support' the police...
We have to ask ourselves what our government is afraid of that it actually thinks of this horrific action and the implications it will bring with it if ever executed!? To me the only logical reason for our government to consider deploying the military inside Germany is to control civil unrest, which in conclusion does make US a potential enemy of the state - and this is an implication that should outrage all of us! The army is trained to either defend [our country] or (god forbid) attack [others] - it IS NOT an institution trained as the police to protect civilians and their rights [or that is at least what they are supposed to do]. For gods sake and army is trained to kill!
Furthermore, we have to ask ourselves why our government(s) are afraid of us!? What could derail our believes so much that it would turn out tens of thousands of citizens to the streets [in a violent way, because we had tens of thousands protesting against the war in Kosovo] in a manner that the police could not possible control? Well, thinking about it the only reason for that could only be protest against the very government itself, that turns violent after being ignored by our leaders! In conclusion our government takes precaution to secures its (and the multinationals) power over society, if necessary by force... I know that sounds pretty weired especially as the argument is that the army is supposed to fight against terrorists if necessary!
Well lets define the term terrorist then:
First of all, there is no internationally agreed definition for terrorist or terrorism! Which now leaves each country to define terrorism for itself, for Europe it partly states:
"given their nature or context, may seriously damage a country or an international organization where committed with the aim of: seriously intimidating a population; or unduly compelling a Government or international organization to perform or abstain from performing any act; or seriously destabilizing or destroying the fundamental political, constitutional, economic or social structures of a country or an international organization."
This BY DEFINITION makes each one of us a terrorist if we would actually decide to protest against our government or an 'international organization'!! Think about this..... ..... .... .....
A very, very dark and scary prospect for our future...especially now with a economic meltdown and the possibility of a global depression. Such events were in the past triggers for revolutions and social changes in society and now our governments are obviously preparing for the worst case scenario - their own people - us...
